Glenn Iona
NPP Chief Engineer
Goddard Space Flight Center

Glenn Iona, the National Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System (NPOESS) Preparatory Project (NPP) Chief Engineer, has worked at Goddard Space Flight Center for more than 15 years.

He began his career with NASA as a contractor for the Hubble Space Telescope First Servicing Mission as a Senior Test Engineer supporting flight-ground-shuttle integration activities. For 10 years he worked on Earth Observing System missions, Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission, Terra, Aqua, and Aura, as a System Engineer and System Manager leading system & mission design, verification, and integration of complex, distributed systems with various external and international partners. Since 2004, Iona has been supporting NPP as the lead for the NPP Flight simulator, Mission Manager, Satellite I&T, Chief Engineer and Independent Technical Authority.

Outside of work, Iona enjoys family vacations, traveling, Raven's games both home and away, and other outdoor activities.
